Romcarbon overwhelmed by demand

Romcarbon Buzau, the only Romanian gas masks producer, doubled its profit in the first half this year, as compared with the same time last year. The company was unable to take advantage of the increasing demand during the war in Iraq, as it had not benefited from a financial support to produce gas masks, even though it is one of the few producers in Eastern Europe. The company operates in the plastic and active carbon filter industry. It posted 5bn ROL profit in H1, up from 2.5bn ROL in the year-ago interval. However, the turnover in ROL maintained at the same level of 131bn ROL ($4m). ZF
