Jaguar and Land Rover importer expects to sell 500 cars

Premium Auto, the general importer of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands expects to sell nearly 500 cars this year, up about 20% from last year, the company's marketing and communication manager Anca Bold told Mediafax yesterday. "We sold 33 Jaguar cars and 184 Land Rover SUVs in the first six months of the year. We expect to sell 70 Jaguars and over 400 Land Rovers this year," Bold added. The Premium Auto official added that the X Type was the best-selling Jaguar model on the Romanian market, while the best-selling Land Rovers are the Range Rover Sport and Freelander models, the latter now in the last few months before being discontinued due to the launch of a new generation of vehicles towards the end of this year. According to data from the Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers (APIA), the sales of Land Rovers reached 388 units last year, while demand for Jaguar models totalled 32 units. Pre mium Auto yesterday launched the new Jaguar XKR (photo), equipped with a 4.2 litre V8 engine that develops 420 HP, a model based on the XK car. According to the company's marketing and communication manager, the price of this model, available both in a two-door and a convertible version, will be somewhat higher than the XK, whose price starts at 71,090 euros tax exclusive.
