Siceram invests in roof tile production

Sighisoara-based producer of ceramic construction materials, Siceram will start an investment worth some 7 million euros in retooling the tiles production line this year. At the end of last year, the company completed the construction of a new plant to make Termobloc (the company''s own brand) building materials), with the total investment standing at 8 million euros. "The last piece of equipment necessary for the production flow will be acquired soon, with the investment reaching 400,000 euros. The new product is in line with European standards, and the manufacturing technology is acquired from the Italian company Marcheluzzo," stated Nicolae Neag, commercial manager of Siceram. He says the new bricks will be exclusively intended for the domestic market, the main reason behind it being the weight of these materials, which does not allow them to be transported over very long distances.
