Reghin-based Irum, which manufactures farming and forestry equipment, estimates a turnover worth 8.93 million euros this year, up 26.7% on 2006, when the company saw sales of around 6.55 million euros. "The significant increase in the demand for spare parts needed for farming and forestry equipment, the increase in the volume of deliveries to our foreign customers, as well as the expansion of our company's operations are the main reasons behind the positive trend in this year's turnover," the financial manager of Irum, Cristian Baciu, told ZF Transilvania. Irum manufactures farming and forestry equipment, tractors, loaders, transporters, equipment for maintaining forest roads, and also produces the necessary parts. "The policy that various companies have in place, of renewing machinery, of acquiring equipment with lower levels of consumption and higher performance, as well as the requirements for adapting to European pollution norms, have prompted us to predict a market increase in 2007, compared with the previous years," added Baciu.
