Alexandrion targets 20% higher revenues

The spirits division of the Greek group Alexandrion saw an approximately 50 million-euro turnover last year, up 47% against results in 2005, according to Stelios Bitzarakis, chairman of Group Spirits Alexandrion and one of the main shareholders of the company. "This year we want to increase our exports, so we estimate our turnover will increase 20% in 2007. The main countries we are interested in are the UK, Italy and Russia," added Stelios Bitzarakis. According to company estimates, the spirits division of the Alexandrion group could reach a 60 million-euro turnover at the end of this year. Company representatives will this year invest 7 million euros in a new bottling and mixing division of the plant owned by the group in Ploiesti. "The new facility will have a 7,000 square-metre production area and is expected to become operational in the middle of 2008," stated Bitzarakis. Cur rently, the Alexandrion group holds a production and bottling facility in Ploiesti, with a 50 million-litre a year production capacity and another facility in Radauti.
