PVC trim maker Optimedia expects 30% surge

Oradea-based Optimedia, a producer of PVC and aluminium thermal-insulating trim estimates an approximately 9.1 million-euro turnover this year, a 30% increase against that of 2006. "We estimate to maintain an upward sales trend this year, following the heavy development of the construction market. As for the progress of producers of PVC windows and doors, the European rules regarding thermal comfort will be imposed from the very start of the post-accession stage as a result of the rallying of the domestic legislation to that the EU,. This state of affairs will have a direct effect on the business of companies specialising in our field of activity," the company's general manager, Marius Pantis, told ZF Transilvania. In 2006, the company conducted several investment programmes aimed at opening five new centres, which sell the company's own products. The y were also aimed at acquiring an automated line to make thermal-insulating trim, with the total value of allocated funds exceeding 1.7 million euros.
