Paper packaging manufacturer Segezha Packaging, which owns a plant in Ploiesti, forecasts turnover worth 9.5 million euros this year, up 22% against last year, based on its contracts with the three leading cement producers on the local market, Lafarge, Holcim and Heidelberg. "Half of the company's budget comes from clients in the cement field, Lafarge, Holcim and Heidelberg," said Gabriel Angelescu, the company's marketing and sales manager. Apart from supplying packaging for building materials, the company has also started to supply packaging for various food products, seeds, chemicals and minerals, according to Angelescu. Segezha has become a supplier for several companies this year, which includes milling and bakery company Boromir and ceramic adhesives producer Baulinie. "We hope to increase our production capacity by around 30% next year, through new investments," added Angelescu. He explained that increasing production is a natural move, given that the construction materials sector has witnessed huge increases (30% in 2007), whilst cement producers estimate they will double their production capacities within the next five years.
