SEAT sales up by over 32% after 9 months

SEAT, the Spanish division of the VW-Audi group, saw a 32.5% sales increase in the first nine months of the year, to 3,660 units, compared with the same time last year. The Ibiza remained the most popular model (the B-segment model of the range) with 1,452 units sold, up 27.3% against the same time last year. The B-segment saw a 51.2% rise in volume in the first nine months of this year, to 54,850 units, while the Renault Clio was the most popular model on this segment with 12,220 units sold, 31.1% above the level registered during the same period in 2006. The brand's second best selling model, the Cordoba sedan, designed on a joint platform with the Ibiza model, sold 1,040 units, up 51.8% against the same time last year. At the latest edition of the Bucharest International Auto Show, SEAT presented the new Altea Freetrack on the Romanian market, the first all-wheel drive model available from the Spanish carmaker. In September, 6 units of the new model were sold, all of which are powered by a 2.0-litre, 170 HP diesel engine.
