Gedeon Richter: No more acquisitions from now on

Erik Bogsch, CEO of the Hungarian group Gedeon Richter, which paid around 30 million euros last year for two drug distribution companies on the Romanian market, believes its main objectives are to integrate the companies it has taken over and to grow organically. "We are don't plan on making any more acquisitions, either for distribution, production or retail. We aim to become an important player on the Romanian market, and I think we managed to achieve this. We don't wish to become leaders of the Romanian market, and I wouldn't say we have an aggressive strategy in Romania," Erik Bogsch told ZF in an interview. Richter group's latest deal on the Romanian market was the takeover, at the end of last week, of a 96% stake in the Pharma-Farm distributor, for 13.5 million euros. At the end of last year, Gedeon Richter paid 14.5 million euros for the entire stake of the Dita group.
