SW Umwelttechnik plans four plants in three years

Austria's SW Umwelttechnik group in the first half of the year generated turnover worth 3.7m euros on the domestic market, double the level reached during the same period last year, of 1.8m euros, according to the half-year report. The company is set to invest over 30m euros to build 4 plants manufacturing technological devices for environmental protection within the next 3-4 years. The value of investments operated in Romania in H1, 2007 stands at 6.4m euros. According to the group's officials, the future investments will primarily target the Romanian market. The group's activities in Romania account for 9% of overall revenues, compared to 5% in the first half of last year, the group's first-half financial report states. "Sales of products for infrastructure increased domestically in the first half, but performances registered in the sector of water preservation fell below expectations, as projects were delayed because EU funds were inaccessible. Thi s factor, doubled by the additional funds related to initial costs, slashed consolidated EBIT by one million euros," company representatives said.
