Voluntary pensions fund ING Optim, managed by ING Asigurari de Viata (ING Life Insurance) saw the fastest rise in terms of assets and in terms of number of participants in June, according to data from the Private Pensions Supervisory Commission. This rise was prompted by a contract signed with the Romanian Post Office, by which around 13,600 company employees have joined ING Optim, with the Post Office to pay a 60-RON (around 17-euro) contribution per month per employee. The value of ING Optim's net assets climbed 44% in June compared with May, to 5.2 million RON (1.4 million euros), and the number of clients went up by 114%, reaching almost 25,700. On a separate note, the ING group has decided not to dispute and instead pay the around 382,000-euro fine it has recently received from the CSSPP for outsourcing the management of private pension assets to another division of the group.
