Marsh's turnover, up 82% in first quarter

Marsh, the local division of the largest insurance broker worldwide, ended the first quarter of this year with turnover worth 2 million euros, up 82% compared with the same time last year. In the first three months of 2007, the company recorded revenues worth 1.1 million euros. The broker works exclusively with corporate clients, and intermediated gross underwritten premiums worth 14 million euros in Q1, compared with 8 million euros in the same period last year, up 75%. Half of the insurance policies brokered are motor insurance, 20% - property insurance, 15% - civil liability insurance, 5% - transport insurance, 5% employee benefits (such as life insurance, health insurance and voluntary pensions) and 5% - other types of policies. For this year, Marsh budgeted revenues worth around 7.6 million euros, up 25% on 2007. The company intends to grow mainly on the employee benefits segment, which could double its share in the company's portfolio by the end of the year.
