UTI Facility Management and Romprest have won a contract worth over 41 million euros (148 million RON) with the Romanian Post Office, under which they will supply cleaning and maintenance services for the company's buildings over a four-year period. The auction was organised by the Romanian Commodities Exchange (BRM), as a consultant-organiser. "Following negotiations, the Romanian Post Office has obtained a discount of 33 million euros over 4 years, which accounts for over 8.2 million RON per year", say BRM representatives. This is the most valuable contract sealed via the Romanian Commodities Exchange in the first seven months of the year. UTI Facility Management is the cleaning and maintenance division of the UTI group, controlled by businessman Tiberiu Urdareanu. Rom prest has British investment fund 3i as its majority shareholder (with over 44% of the shares), which also holds stakes in private medical services provider Centrul Medical Unirea and in local software producer Gecad Technologies.
