Lafarge Arcom Gips, the Romanian plasterboard division of the Lafarge group posted an over 45% turnover increase last year, to around 100m RON (27m euros), double the growth rate forecast at the beginning of the year, because of an increase in sales for all product ranges, as well as of the fact that the Bucharest plant operated at full capacity. Additionally, the company started export activities in 2008, with the targeted countries being Moldova, Bulgaria and Greece. "In Romania, Lafarge Arcom Gips posted an over 45% turnover rise against 2007. This is due to sales increases for all products sold by Lafarge Arcom Gips, especially plasterboard, gypsum and gypsum-based products," said Daniel Coulon, general manager of Lafarge Arcom Gips.
