Marex Braila ends 2008 wit 21.8% growth

Marex, the company dealing with production of alcohol and meat products of the group by the same name in Braila, held by the Moraru family, ended last year with 299.6 million RON (81.3 million euros) in turnover, up 21.8% in RON against the previous year, when it amounted to 245.9 million RON (73.6 million euros). "We recorded significant rises for fresh meat sales, as well as for meat-based products, for which we reached our target of 30 tonnes a day. For alcohol and alcohol-based products, our results were slightly below the 2007 level," said Marin Moraru, general manager and majority shareholder of Marex, a company with over 800 staff. He added that Marex continued to record sales increases in the first two months and a half of 2008 on all product categories apart from spirits.
