Gealan expects same turnover as last year: 71m euros

Gealan Romania, the local branch of German PVC trim maker Gealan, expects to reach the same turnover this year as in 2008, 71 million euros, although the thermal-insulating trim market has gone down by 20-40% in five months. "This continues to be an atypical year, whose progression is hard to predict. The economic environment remains a difficult one, mainly because of the frozen real estate market. That is why our goal remains to preserve the same turnover as in 2008, which was around 11% higher than in 2007," said Aurel Vlaicu, general manager of Gealan Romania. According to data provided by the company, the thermal-insulating trim market fell by over 30% last year, to around 700 million euros, with sales expected to continue to fall this year. However, the company will not conduct any restructuring - it currently has around 150 employees, and has recently started a campaign to sustain the marketing activity of its partners.
