Heritage, Bucharest's most expensive restaurant, also known as "bankers' restaurant", because most shareholders are bankers, recorded 1.6 million euros in cumulated losses in its three years since opening, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. However, according to sources close to the company, the restaurant's losses currently exceed 2 million euros. The restaurant project originated in 2006, with the official opening occurring in September 2007. Heritage's current majority shareholder is businessman Dinu Patriciu, who a few months ago bought a stake in the company that owns the restaurant, thus boosting his interest to 51%, according to the quoted sources. The second largest shareholder of Heritage, after Patriciu, is Dan Pascariu, chairman of the Board of Directors of UniCredit Tiriac Bank, who holds 12% of the shares. Patriciu joining in brought the number of shareholders to 23. A meal at Heritage costs around 100 euros.
