Savini Due's exports stand to gain from RON depreciation

Bathroom furniture manufacturer Savini Due in Alba county expects a 10% turnover rise this year, to 11.3 million euros, compared with the 10.3 million euros posted in 2008. "We are pleased with the results we have achieved so far, considering that both the furniture market and the construction market are down 20-30% against last year. Our company's growth has to do both with orders from traditional clients, and from new business partners. The company's sales progression was also aided by the depreciation of the Romanian currency, which had a positive impact on exports," Piersante Savini, manager of Savini Due told ZF Transilvania. According to representatives of the Sebes-based company, the furniture market followed a downward trend this year after the significant increases of the last four years, and the financial crisis balanced out the market. "I think the Romanian furniture market will be among the first to come out of the current situation because in Romania there is still a need for construction and for infrastructure works. Romanians want new homes and I expect things will return to normal starting next year," Savini added.
