French-held Gefco, a part of the Peugeot Citroën group, is currently in negotiations to take over transportation for several companies that intend to tap into the Romanian market, such as H&M and Lidl. "There are companies intending to enter the Romanian market or to develop their operations here. We are negotiating with H&M, Kiabi and Leroy Merlin. The rate of outsourcing will continue to rise in the coming period, as companies focus on their core business," said Denis Renard, general manager of Gefco Romania. Gefco representatives did not wish to comment on when the partnerships for transportation and logistics could be sealed with the retailers, since negotiation is in its early stages. H&M clothing retailer started to test the Romanian market recently, looking at the level of rent, sales in retail centres and available commercial spaces.
