Synevo makes 19m euros from lab services

Ziarul Financiar 28.01.2010
Synevo Romania, the medical lab division of Medicover group, expects a 19 million-euro turnover this year, up by 12% (in euros) against 2009. The company's business amounted to 17 million euros last year, almost 10% more than in 2008. "We focused on providing lab services in cities like Pitesti, Ploiesti, Ramnicu Valcea, and Arad, with the value of the investment amounting to over 200,000 euros," said Virgil Ivan, general manager of Synevo. On the whole, the industry of private medical services continued to grow last year, with most operators budgeting a turnover increase for 2010, as well. However, a large share of lab operators' business is accounted for by contracts with state-run health insurance houses, which makes them more vulnerable to the overall progression of the economy. "Although 2009 was a year marked by the financial crisis and by dramatic declines in funds allocated by health insurance houses, we managed to achieve our development targets," Ivan added.
