Travel agency Accent Travel & Events, one of the top ten
players on the Romanian travel market, ended last year with a 61
million-RON (14.5 million-euro) turnover, down 25% in RON against
the previous year. "For this year we have budgeted a 16% rise in
RON to 71 million RON. We continue to face threats such late
recovery from economic recession, which keeps budgets of leisure
travellers, as well as those of corporate clients, low," said
Lucian Boronea, general manager of Accent Travel&Events. He
added another problem was the revenue pressure on the cash flow.
Corporate clients of Accent Travel & Events include companies
such as Orange, Petrom, Subaru, Romexterra, Hulliburton, and
Washington Group, with almost 95% of company revenues generated by
corporate clients.
"Last year we did not make any people redundant,
we kept all our 48 employees, but did move them from one department
to another," Boronea said.
