Angelli Spumante & Aperitive sparkling wine producer in the first quarter of this year saw its sales volume go up to more than 1.5 million bottles, with the value of sales also following an upward trend. "January was difficult, probably for all producers, but February and March brought us good results. (...) 2010 will be a tough year. We hope we'll keep the upward trend and exports will be a very important part of our business, as they are one of the real growth opportunities," said Alin Ursu, manager of Angelli Spumante & Aperitive. Starting as early as last year, exports have fared well and offset the dwindling domestic market. According to Finance Ministry data, the company reached turnover worth 18.9m euros in 2008 and 3m-euro profit. For the next four years, the producer's budget is built around a 5-7% annual growth. "In overall sales, exports in the first few months accounted for around 10%, but this year we'll see renewed significant export growth (...)," Ursu also said. The company mainly delivers to countries such as Hungary, Italy, Spain, Greece, Latvia.
