The leading private clinic networks have announced investments in over 13 new facilities this year, as well as plans to build seven private hospitals, which could see record amounts invested in the medical services industry, a business that is expected to reach 600 million euros by 2012.

According to a recent Ziarul Financial analysis, the leading private clinics on the Romanian market will hire over 500 staff after completion of scheduled investments.

According to existing information, the biggest recruitment campaign will be conducted by CMU, which plans to hire 300.

"A doctor that has just entered the system makes around 2,500 RON (625 euros), and a doctor with 2-3 years' experience makes over 3,500 RON (833 euros). For specialties such as gynaecology, dermatology, and cardiology, full time earnings can exceed 1,000 euros," says Cristian Sas, consultant in the field. Sas has worked within the Polisano clinic network, as well as within CMU in the past.

Sanador representatives said recently that salaries for their ongoing personnel recruitment campaign, which targets all personnel categories, range between 500 euros and 2,000 euros. "Star" doctors earn around 3,000-3,500 euros part time.
