Popoviciu gets 0.8m-euro dividends from IKEA
IKEA, the biggest local furniture retailer, will pay out 3.44
million RON (0.8 million euros) in dividends to former
shareholders, Engma Beheer and Turkmall Retail, companies that have
businessman Puiu Popoviciu behind them.
He recently sold the IKEA store in Baneasa to the parent company he
had originally taken the franchise from, in a deal put by ZF at
over 30 million euros.
This is the third year when the businessman collects dividends from
IKEA, after the company stepped into the black as early as in 2007,
its first year of operating.
"The disbursement of 70% of the company's retained earnings as
estimated on 31 December 2009 has been approved, of which 3.4
million RON will be paid out in the form of dividends to the
company's partners," reads an announcement published by the company
in the Official Gazette. IKEA representatives could not be
contacted for details yesterday.
