The FIFA World Cup final brought outdoor taverns and bars in
Bucharest's Old Centre at least 100,000 euros in revenues,
according to ZF calculations based on restaurants' traffic
estimates and on an average budget of 8-10 euros spent by those who
saw the final from such an establishment.
The around 10,000-20,000 Bucharest inhabitants who went out to see
the tournament's final between Spain and the Netherlands drank on
average two or three beers during the game. Although the number of
clients was higher than usual, pub and outdoor tavern owners say
revenues collected were not particularly high compared with a
regular Sunday.
