Google, the company owning the world's most popular search engine, does not currently have any concrete plans of opening an office in Romania, and the only position the US company has available in Romania is that of Country Manager, vacant ever since 2008. "Google has not announced the opening of an office in Romania," Marta Jozwiak, a communications and PR manager with Google, told ZF, thus contradicting the statement another representative of the company had made back in spring. In March, Amelia Cre]u, an account relationship manager with Google Adwords Romania, stated Google would open an office in Romania by yearend and the recruitment was underway. Jozwiak says, though, that the data are inexact though the company values the broad adoption of its products on the Romanian market. According to Trade Registry data, Google Bucharest SRL, the company the US giant set up in 2008, last year generated 121,416-euro revenues and gross income worth a little above 2,000 euros in Romania. However, some representatives of the domestic online industry say Google has revenues worth several million euros in Romania.
