Compa Sibiu (CMP) car part producer, a company controlled by employees, in first half hired around 290 workers to fill the growing number of orders mainly coming from its foreign partners, Delphi and Bosch. This allowed it to boost its turnover by 71% to 44.5m euros in the first six months.

The firm increased its personnel by around 20% to 1,720 employees in the first half, while in recent years the number of employees has constantly slid.
The producer is, besides Interagro group of businessman Ioan Niculae, the only Romanian-held company that in 2009 managed to position itself among the 50 largest exporters in Romania.
"We've managed to develop solid business relationships and gain foreign partners' confidence, which came with new projects and will support the company's growth in the following period as well. Though we want it, we haven't managed to find any segment to develop a project with a firm of Romania," says Ioan Deac, general manager of Compa Sibiu.
Compa is one of the few firms privatised through the MEBO method that managed to reorganise completely when traditional demand fell and exports currently weigh over 90% in turnover, while ten years ago the company was entirely dependent on the domestic market.
