How Fiterman family has become a major player in healthcare

Fiterman family of Iaşi, which invests in the pharmaceutical industry and private healthcare services, where it owns Fiterman Pharma producer, Arcadia hospital and clinic, has so far invested over 20m euros in these projects, but plans further investments and the first project on its agenda entails moving the plant, which will take a 5m-euro budget.


The two businesses last year generated cumulated turnover worth over 6.6m euros, according to company data, and both were profitable. Thus, Arcadia Medical Center reached net income worth 0.5m RON (0.1m euros) amid turnover of 5.3m RON (1.3m euros), while Fiterman Pharma posted 3.6m RON (0.8m euros) profit, amid 23m RON (5.4m euros) turnover, according to Trade Registry data.
For this year, the company expects 3.5m-euro turnover for the hospital, which became operational in June 2010. No data is available on the budgets of the other companies.
Arcadia Hospital took 20m-euro investments and is among the biggest private hospitals in the country, with 220 beds.
