Qatar's national airline starts recruitment campaign in Romania
Qatar Airways, Qatar's flagship carrier and one of the world's
biggest carriers, which transported 12 million passengers last year
and operates 92 routes in Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and
the Middle East, has started a recruitment campaign in Romania for
its local office, amid plans to start operating Bucharest-Doha
flights as of January 2011, according to data on the company's
website.
"Qatar offers its employees packages that, apart from salaries,
also include accommodation, transport, and other benefits," reads
the company's website, which does not specify the wage level.
The airline, which will introduce four weekly flights on the
Bucharest-Doha route on January 17th, seeks to hire personnel
specialised in marketing, sales, finances, and aeroplane ticket
booking. The company is also looking to hire crew members.
In Romania, the salary of a fully-licensed pilot amounts to
5,000-6,000 euros a month, according to Pavel Tatcu, former flight
instructor at the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority. Officials
of Qatar Airways had failed to send data on the wages to be paid
for the jobs advertised in Romania by edition close.
Internationally, Qatar's national airline has 15,000 employees of
100 different nationalities.
