Auchan and BelRom pay 30m euros for 12 ha in Electroputere
The family of Mulliez businesspeople, who controls the Auchan,
Decathlon and Leroy Merlin chains, has bought in partnership with
two Belgian businesspeople, managers of the BelRom group, a
12-hectare plot of the Electroputere Craiova industrial site, in a
deal worth over 30 million euros.
"The agreement that Auchan and K&S Developments concluded today
(a company controlled by Kris Carton and Steven van den Bossche,
BelRom managers i.e.) provides for the acquisition of a 12-hectare
plot of the land held by Electroputere Craiova and for building the
shopping centre that will open in the second half of 2011," Auchan
representatives announced.
The investment in the project that will cover 63,000 square metres
will amount to 90 million euros, 30 million of which is the
acquisition price of the land, which accommodates a structure that
will be integrated into the future shopping centre, according to
sources close to the deal.
The Mulliez family will open both an Auchan hypermarket within the
project, and Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, Kiabi stores, as well as a
Norauto centre, while BelRom representatives will rent out a 25,000
square-metre area to around 100 tenants, with the project's broker
being DTZ Echinox.
