Most valuable companies in Romania
Petrom, Fondul Proprietatea and Hidroelectrica are leading in the Top 100 most valuable companies in Romania 2010 ranking, the fifth edition of the yearbook published by Ziarul Financiar. The ranking is drawn up together with Capital Partners investment firm.
Petrom, Fondul Proprietatea and Hidroelectrica are the most
valuable companies in 2010, with a market value of 4.5bn euros,
3.8bn euros and 3.35bn euros respectively, whereas in 2009 the top
three positions were held by Petrom, Orange and Fondul
Proprietatea.
Energy companies have thus won the leading positions in the
ranking, considering the value of Fondul Proprietatea is primarily
based on its stakes in energy companies.
The ranking was put together at the initiative of Ziarul Financiar,
in 2006, jointly with Capital Partners, one of the biggest
independent M&A and funding consultancies in Romania.
The purpose of publishing the ranking is to get a picture of the
trend of the value of companies in Romania every year.
The most spectacular increase, from 169m euros in 2009, to 447m
euros this year, was registered by Cluj mobile phone plant
Nokia.
This year, there are eight new entrants in the ranking, of which
five manufacturing companies (Arctic-electrical home appliances,
Holzindustrie-wood prefabricates, Johnson Controls, Continental
Automotive, Pirelli-car parts). A&D Pharma, Romstrade
(constructions, controlled by Nelu Iordache), Groupama (insurance)
also joined the ranking.
