After an over one-year break, when he shunned media appearances, businessman Ioan Ciolan, who controls Ambient company of Sibiu, came up in front of the press with a new team of managers and growth plans for 2011.
"We've gone through a very difficult moment, when we saw the managerial team could not face up to real events. Over the past year and a half we've shifted from an entrepreneurial management structure and we've brought experienced people onboard and attracted new partners, such as Roland Berger and ABS consultants, so that we could make decisions also counting on co-lateral experiences," stated Ciolan.
More than 1,000 people have left the company, the retail business was separated from the distribution one to specialised entrepreneurs and in 2010 managers from companies bigger than Ambient were brought to the management team.
"Whereas at the beginning of the year performances were just a dream or a promise, now we can say it has come true as our financial partners have stood beside us anyway and supported us and I hope they still will," stated Liviu Voicu, the chief financial officer. He meant the company expected revenues to go slightly up, by 1m euros, while for 2011 it projected 15% higher turnover, to around 120m euros.
