Petrescu, City Grill: Two ideas have shaped my business - the Old Centre and beer shops
The five businesses controlled by Dragoş Petrescu in Bucharest's
Old Centre are operations with a good rate of revenues, but also
with a significant presence in this year's hottest point of
Bucharest, when all the other leisure locations of Bucharest have
fallen into disgrace once the Old Centre started developing, making
an area that generates annual revenues of 150m euros.
In 2010, half of the 16m-euro turnover posted by Dragoş Petrescu,
one of the best-known restaurant owners in Romania, was generated
by his Old Centre restaurants.
The Old Centre, a windfall for those doing business there, is
ultimately limited. Hence, the other business Petrescu is counting
on, namely beer shops, is to be developed.
"Looking back, there are two ideas that have shaped my current
business: the Old Centre and beer shops," recounts Dragoş Petrescu
the way he has stood out from the rest of tens of restaurant owners
who stuck to several restaurants and are coping with crisis losses.
Unlike them, Petrescu defines 2010 as "sensational".
