Europharm Distribuţie tops growth projection and sees business up 50%
Europharm Distribuţie, one of the biggest players on the drug distribution market, is set to reach 1bn RON (236m euros) turnover this year, up 50% against 2009.
"We targeted 35% turnover growth (in 2010 i.e.) and we expect to
top estimates and end with an over 50% increase from 2009.
Portfolio expansion, the rising number of products sold to each
pharmacy and of the sales volume are a few elements that generated
the figures," said Margareta Mareş, general manager of Europharm
Distribuţie.
About the figures registered by Europharm Distribuţie, Margareta
Mareş specified that on the retail segment the company will see an
over 65% increase, while deliveries through hospitals will drop by
7% in 2010.
Over-the-counter drugs in 2010 generate around 20% in turnover,
while for 2011 the company plans to drive the percentage to
30%.
"In January-October 2010, Europharm Distribuţie ranked fifth among
of distributors in Romania, with an 8.1% overall market share. In
October 2010, the company climbed one position in distributors'
ranking to fourth place, with a 9,2% market share," said Margareta
Mareş, quoting Cegedim data.
