Monica Hodor, 43, left her position as interim general manager of Praktiker, the biggest DIY retailer, according to market sources, after a year at the helm of the company.
Praktiker did not make any comment on the information.
Monica Hodor, the first Romanian general manager of Praktiker Romania, took over interim management of the company in the autumn of last year, keeping her position as financial manager. She is among the first employees of the team to lay the foundations of the German chain on the Romanian market in 2002.
In the past two years German group Praktiker slowed down international expansion because of the economic crisis. In Romania this year's sales decline was one of the most abrupt.
After announcing an 18.8% sales decline in the first quarter of the year against the similar period of 2009, and a 20.6% decline in stores older than one year, Praktiker reported worse sales dynamics in the third quarter than in the first half, revealing that the VAT raise by five percent since July 1st had a major impact on its sales.
