EBS software developer: 2010 was just as weak as 2009 domestically

The EBS group in Cluj-Napoca , a provider of integrated software management solutions (ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning), plans to post a 15% higher turnover this year against the level budgeted in 2010. EBS expected an overall turnover of around 6.7 million euros last year, 12% more than in the previous year.

"We are optimistic about the performance of the EBS group in 2011. We have a large number of ongoing sales processes, and are also preparing to tap into a new market segment," Daniel Metz, CEO of EBS Romania, told ZF Transilvania, without providing additional details.

EBS will continue to recruit this year, with the company intending to hire around 120 more staff, and end 2011 with around 500-strong team. The EBS group consists of EBS Romania (software development on an order basis) and EBS Consulting (business and management consulting) and has three offices in Cluj-Napoca , as well as subsidiaries in Sibiu and Brasov .

Representatives of the Cluj-based company say economic recession in Western Europe is over, and that 2010 was a very good year for EBS's exports, but similarly weak to 2009 for the Romanian business.
