Solmar Trading Group, the company that operates brands such as Mango and Parfois under franchise, has lost the Promod franchise, one of the biggest names in the group's portfolio.

The four Promod stores that the company operated under franchise - three in Bucharest (Bucureşti Mall, Plaza România, Băneasa Shopping Center) and one in Constanţa (Complexul Comercial Tom) were taken over by Promod France, the parent company, according to Irina Ivan, division manager of Solmar Trading Group, who did not provide further details on this takeover.

Promod France was already operating three stores of its own on the Romanian market, all of them in Bucharest - Liberty Mall, Sun Plaza and AFI Cotroceni Park.

The French are thus pursuing the model of other retailers present on the Romanian market, such as Zara, Mango and H&M. Spanish-held Mango announced in 2009 it would open its first store of its own in AFI Cotroceni, although they had two franchisees, Solmar Trading and Peeraj Brands International.
