The number of Romanians working for Microsoft's subsidiaries in the US, Ireland and Denmark is double the number of employees of the world's biggest software company in Romania. The trend will continue, considering that Microsoft currently has four ads for software developer jobs at the Dublin centre on job recruitment websites.

"In all, there are around 620-630 Romanians working in Microsoft centres in these countries, the bulk of whom (more than 500) work in the US. In general, the profiles of those who want to relocate are stricter than those of employees sought by Microsoft Romania, in that they have to have three or four years' experience of using a certain technology," Cosmin Bordea, Country HR Lead of Microsoft Romania, which last year had 300 employees on the Romanian market, told ZF.

These are the first official figures as to the number of Romanians working for Microsoft abroad.

Soon, the number of Romanians working for Microsoft will reach 1,000, with the company set to recruit another 50 employees on the Romanian market in the first half of this year.
