Berceni's Monaco: 42 families moved into a 304-apartment project
Several residential complexes in Bucharest continue to have hundreds of apartments available, as a result of projects being completed in full crisis, with only 42 families having moved into the two Monaco Towers blocks of apartments in Berceni so far, after Lebanese-held Marble House built 304 apartments.
The sales manager of the project, an around 30 million-euro
investment, says 33% of the apartments have been bought, but not
all clients have moved in, with one tower block not being used at
all, while for the second tower block, one lift out of three is
enough to transport inhabitants.
"Two-room apartments have a fixed price. Three-room ones are
negotiable," says Victor Marinescu, sales manager of the complex
located close to underground station Dimitrie Leonida (IMGB) and
finalised in December 2009. How much do they cost? Two-room
apartments cost 80,000 euros (VAT included), three-room apartments
cost 137,000 euros, and duplexes near 300,000 euros.
Competition is still high. Developers have over 5,000 new
apartments completed, while owners of old, three-room apartments
have lowered prices below 60,000 euros, in order to qualify for the
'First Home' scheme.
