Schmidt, set to sell Rolls-Royce saloon cars in Germany
Michael Schmidt, the businessman controlling Automobile Bavaria
group, the biggest BMW dealer domestically, will open the first
Rolls-Royce showroom of Munich this year. He thus becomes the first
Romanian to sell a luxury brand outside the country.
Michael Schmidt was born in Braşov, Romania. Rolls-Royce brand is
among the world's most expensive cars, whose prices can go as high
as 600,000 euros.
On the German market, Schmidt owns four BMW dealerships close to
Munich, with the first being taken over in 2007 and another three
in 2010.
"I have become an official Rolls Royce dealer in Germany. The first
showroom will be opened in central Munich, in September, and the
servicing centre will be located in one of BMW German centres taken
over last year," said Schmidt.
Last autumn, the Băneasa centre of Automobile Bavaria became the
official servicing centre of Rolls Royce brand, an investment
operated as Romania holds over 60 saloon cars made by the luxury
carmaker.
The Munich showroom opens as the British brand has launched a
dealership network expansion programme as Rolls Royce global sales
doubled last year.
