Gruia Stoica expects 16% higher revenues for GFR

Grup Feroviar Român (GFR - Romanian Railway Group), the biggest private railway operator, controlled by businessman Gruia Stoica, has budgeted 650 million lei (154.7 million euros) in revenues for this year, up more than 16% against last year.
"This year's estimate is 650 million-lei revenues. The contracts sealed last year with Lukoil and Rompetrol, which together amount to 35 million euros, will have an impact on 2011 figures," said officials of Grup Feroviar Român, part of the Grampet group, which also includes Remar Paşcani, Reva Simeria and Turist Semenic.
Gruia Stoica, one of the most discreet Romanian businesspeople, who has built a several hundred million-euro business in the railway industry, is the owner of the Grampet group. The biggest company in the group is GFR, which operates 9,500 carriages and 225 locomotives. GFR has 2,300 employees at present, according to company officials.
GFR shareholders are Grampet SA ( 50.45%), Vasile Didilă, with 26.1%, Rapid Com (held by Vasile Didilă) with 14.1% and Turnoprest (held by Vasile Didilă) with 9%.
