Grand Arena has three tenants left in food-court area
The number of tenants in the food-court area of Grand Arena
shopping centre in southern Bucharest has halved in the past year,
so that only Spring Times restaurant, Canephora coffee shop and Top
Sandwich shop are now operational, after Swiss Grill restaurant and
another two coffee shops have been closed lately.
The area initially fitted with tables for customers was converted
into children's playgrounds, while another space from the upper
floor of the shopping centre was taken over by the operator of a
billiards centre. The karting area, launched a year ago, is not
permanently operational.
The shopping centre in southern Bucharest, the first to be opened
in Bucharest after the onset of the crisis, had a lower occupancy
rate than the other projects on the market right from the
beginning, and in the two years of operations more than 20
retailers have closed the stores they had in the complex.
