Specialised websites top travel agencies in Internet search ranking

When searching "Romania accommodation" on the Internet, one of the major travel agencies, Eximtur, selling holidays with accommodation in Romanian pensions or hotels mainly, does not emerge before the fourth page of Google results.
Google's top ten results include turistinfo.ro, roturism.com, ecazari.ro, tourismguide.ro, infopensiuni.ro, romaniacazare.ro, cazari.ro, retouring.ro, viaromania.eu and romania-turistica.ro.
Presence on the Internet among the top results for accommodation brings these websites, which provide tourists for free with databases of pensions, villas and hotels in Romania, several tens of thousand euros annually. The money comes from the contracts they seal with pensions or hotels for presence on specialised accommodation websites.
"The emergence of websites presenting accommodation possibilities is an adaptation to technology. For some years, people have started booking hotel or pension rooms over the Internet. Accommodation websites are easy to find as they are very well optimised after certain key words such as accommodation," stated Lucian Marinescu, a senior associate with Trend Hospitality consultancy.
