UPC Romania, ranking second on Romania's TV market, last year generated revenues worth 160.5m dollars (121m euros), almost 2% lower than in the previous year. 2010 was thus the third year in a row when the operator saw its revenues go down, according to the preliminary financial data published by Liberty Global US group, the company's owner.

On the other hand, Liberty Global data show the Romanian subsidiary managed to curb the revenue decline rate to around 2% from 15% and 16% in 2009 and 2008. With turnover worth 160.5m dollars (121.1m euros) in 2010, UPC Romania's revenues almost matched the ones posted in 2009, of 123.4m euros.

As UPC Romania last year saw its total number of subscriptions go down by 7%, a major role in the lower revenue drop rate was probably played by the rising number of users who bought more expensive services, such as HD television or the DVR.
