33% half-year increase for PEI's business

Petrolexportimport Bucharest concluded the first six months of the year with 22.9 million-euro turnover, up 33% from the same time last year. The company's net profit stood at 353,000 euros, down approximately 20%. The financial revenues were worth 21,950 euros, compared with the first six months of the 2003 financial year, when financial revenues amounted to 170,000 euros. This represents a 90% drop. The output sold by Petrolexportimport was worth 12% more in real terms, going up to 116,000 euros from the previous 104,000 euros. Petrolexportimport estimated it would come to log 1,415bn ROL in total revenues this year, over 100bn ROL less than in 2003, while its net profit should stand at 18.1bn ROL, also three times lower than last year.
