60m euro investments in natural gas distribution

Two companies, one Romanian and one Russian, intend to invest approximately 60 million euros in natural gas distribution in Cluj and Suceava Counties. Gaz Invest Romania is interested in becoming a distributor of natural gas in Cluj County, with investments in this regard reaching about 35 million euros. The company's manager, Ninel Ciochina said on Tuesday after his meeting with the chairman of Cluj County Council, Marius Nicoara, that his company wanted to build a factory in Cluj, manufacturing natural gas converter and regulator stations. They also plan to construct a factory producing natural gas meters and a facility that makes pipes, given the upcoming expansion of the natural gas networks across the county's communes, by approximately 6,000 km. The project will be run over two years, creating 1,500 jobs. Other natural gas investments will be made by the Russia-based Stroytransgaz in Suceava. It has notified the County Council of plans to invest 25 million euros in building natural gas distribution networks in certain localities within the county. It furthermore hopes to take part in the construction of a gas duct to link Romania to the European gas transport network. ZF
