German producer adidas this year might come to total eight exclusive stores opened on the Romanian market. "At present, adidas Romania holds four stores located in Bucharest and Iasi, with two more stores opened in Brasov and Timisoara under a franchise system," stated Tiberiu Almaghe, adidas Romania SRL general manager. The two new adidas stores will be opened in Bucharest. "The first will be situated in Plaza Romania and will be our largest store, taking up a total of 300 square metres," adds Almaghe. By comparison, the commercial areas of the adidas stores currently operating on the market are of up to 200 square metres. Adidas Romania SRL, with the German group as its shareholder, has been the importer and single distributor of adidas products on the Romanian market as of this year. The best-known sports products brand before 1990, adidas has been officially present on the Romanian market since 1997, through a distributor, Alltrom Service company, part of the group of companies owned by businessman Nicolae Badea.
