Alka owner Amir Krenzia gives up Nutline seeds

Israeli-born Amir Krenzia, owner of Alka food industry group, isfor the first time giving up part of the business built in Romaniain the past 16 years.

He has sealed a deal with Germany's Intersnack for the sale ofNutline seed and dry fruit, with 22m-euro turnover in 2009, in linewith market sources.
The deal, which ZF puts at over 10m euros, is bringing a thirdstrong brand in the domestic portfolio of Intersnack group, afterFelix and Fiesta.
The takeover has not been confirmed by Intersnack representativesby edition close. In their turn, Alka representatives stated thesale of Nutline was sent to the Competition Council for approval,without providing further information.
Alka is one of the largest snacks producers owned by domesticinvestors and the biggest rival of Intersnack and PepsiCo US gianton the dry fruit and seeds market, valued at over 50-70meuros.
Nutline last year held a 38% share of the Romanian dry fruit marketand was one of Krenzia's biggest stakes to boost Alka's exports,according to the data previously provided by the group'srepresentatives.
