The representatives of the NBR (National Bank of Romania) could provide consulting services for commercial banks for the new crediting norms this week, says Radu Ghetea, chairman of the Romanian Banking Association (ARB) and of the CEC (Romanian Savings Bank). "The National Bank has made its availability known to banks wanting to organise consultations at the Romanian Banking Association, where NBR representatives could present cases to the banking representatives, situations that should not appear in the norms," said Ghetea. The chairman of the ARB said lenders should try and convince the central bank that certain aspects should be interpreted differently. "We had several rounds of talks, the last of which was at the end of last month. A few days ago we received a written reply, from our letter to the National Bank, saying it could not fulfil our requests. (...) In this case, I don't think arbitration would solve the problem," said Ghetea.
