Changes at the top at Solectron

20.10.2005, 20:43 34

US-based company Solectron, one of the top providers of services to electronic equipment manufacturers in the world, has decided to replace its management in Romania for the second time this year. Italy''s Gianluca Testa, who was appointed chief executive at the end of March, has been replaced by Mike Campan, a Romanian-born American citizen. Testa says he and Solectron parted on friendly terms, dismissing stories in the local press that he had been replaced because the Americans were dissatisfied with his work. "Everything is speculation. I hired Mike myself two months ago and trained him for this job. He has outstanding expertise. As far as I know, he left Romania in 1976. I agreed together with the company that I should find a replacement for my position. I had a perfect agreement with Solectron, highly ethical and professional," Testa told ZF Transilvania. The new manager, Campan, confirmed that Testa had not been not sacked. "I am telling you this without a shadow of a doubt. He has never done anything against Solectron. We appreciate his efforts and the time he has put in in the service of the company." ZF
